Tasked with restoring and reinvigorating Mitchelton Winery, an established architectural icon set deep in the picturesque Victorian countryside, the approach is one of respect rather than the typical adherence to heritage. Only what the building asked for is introduced, trusting the original architecture to lead the way. Material, light and a carefully edited furniture program lift the rooms into a contemporary register while honouring the considerable presence and history the original work carries over many years.
