Situated in Brighton, the brief was to honour the old-world grandeur of this 1800s home and introduce a simple, richly layered addition. The new work draws on the unassuming architecture and relaxed lifestyle of southern Italy, becoming a sympathetic, discreet companion to the original house. The home evolves alongside its growing family, holding heritage and contemporary life in conversation through a considered, hand-worked palette of materials chosen to soften and deepen with use over time.
