Hecker Guthrie are seeking an organized and personable individual to join their team as Practice Manager to cover maternity leave.
ABOUT OUR PRACTICE
Hecker Guthrie is an award winning interior design practice located in the heart of Richmond. As a key member of the Studio Leadership Team, you'll be joining a group of passionate individuals, led by Principals Paul Hecker and Hamish Guthrie. Working in a dynamic and creative environment, your role will involve close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to manage all elements of the Studio, from new business inquires to client and project oversight, from business and financial reporting through to recruitment and HR. This is a great opportunity to play a valued role within a supportive and close knit team of 16 (plus our beloved Studio dogs!)
This is a full time (37.5h per week) role, which will likely run from mid-May 2023 until late July 2024 (TBC).
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong verbal and written communications skills,
Confident with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook,
Organised and proactive, able to multi-task and prioritise,
Experience in sales and negotiation,
Experience managing a medium sized team,
Experience in administration and operations,
Prior experience in a design firm desirable, but not required.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- New Business - receive and filter inquiries, maintain accurate records. Coordinate and attend client meetings, author fee proposals and submissions, negotiate financial and contract terms.
- Studio Resourcing and Billing - together with Associates, plan resourcing of the design team to all projects across the Studio to ensure the team are working to capacity and output is in line with financial budgets.
- Business Reporting - monitor and report on all aspects of business health including billing forecasts, new inquiries, project status and profitability, HR issues.
- HR - foster and maintain good communication across the team, ensure adequate staffing levels, recruitment and onboarding, performance management, direct oversight of administration assistant.
