HG curate The Johnston Collection
Hecker Guthrie have been invited to rearrange The Johnston Collection at the Fairhall Museum in East Melbourne.
The curatorial approach was to make the residence of Fairhall a fictitous store called 'William Johnston's Emporium' which plays with the history of William's dealings in antiques from across the globe and reframes the collection in an exciting new light. Chairity Project 2015
With thanks to our friends at Cult together with the Republic of Fritz Hansen, Paul and Hamish have reinvented the Series 7 Chair by Arne Jacobsen crafted by Mortice and Tenon as part of The Chairity Project 2015.
"The iconic Series 7 chair by Arne Jacobsen was designed as the perfect everyday chair for the masses. It is the Fritz Hansen's best-selling chair and we wanted to transform the chair into a piece that would appeal to the aristocrat in all of us. Our reworking of this chair is inspired by the Sedan chair of 18th Century Europe; "Why walk, when you can sit!" - Hecker Guthrie
The auction is now live and you can place your bid here, with all proceeds going to My Room, supporting the Children's Cancer Centre at the Royal Children's Hospital.

Elwood House event
2 Pine Avenue, Elwood
Paul Hecker and Hamish Guthrie recently gave a talk at Elwood House, a newly completed display suite done in collaboration with developers, Piccolo Developments as well as architects, Woods Bagot.
As the design of the apartments are geared toward ‘empty-nesters’, Paul and Hamish spoke briefly about ‘downsizing your home’ to those buyers who had spent the first decades of their adult lives ‘adding’ and now keeping ‘just in case’.
Thank you to our clients Michael and Toby for a great evening and we hope the talk will assist buyers in the transition from their current homes to Elwood House in 2016!
For more information on the development, please visit www.elwoodhouse.com.au.
In April, Hecker Guthrie attended the 2015 Australian Interior Design Awards with the studio taking home the Best International Design Award for ‘Gia’ which was also Highly Commended in Hospitality Design along with ‘Polperro Winery’.
